"Stone Barrington and his friends are vacationing in Maine when their leisure is suddenly disrupted by extreme weather. Soon it becomes clear that the target of the incident is one of Stone's closest companions, and that these enemies have a grander scheme in mind. From the bustling streets of New York City to the sun-drenched shores of Key West, Stone intends to nab the criminals that appear behind him at every step. I simply don't believe this book was written by Stuart Woods. There is nothing about it that reflects his style.

None of the usual characters are even mentioned: Joan his do-all secretary, Dino and Vivian Bucchetti (sp?), Helene his cook and housekeeper, Fred Flicker butler and driver, Herbie Fisher, Mike Freeman, Strategic Services, et. al.

Also, thankfully, none of his all-too-phonographic sexual escapades.

The book is quite disappointing.

Another gaffe by Woods. In earlier books Holly's fiance' (a cop) was off duty and killed in a bank robbery. In this book he was murdered while on duty. I realize when you're putting out 5 books in 1 year how you may get confused.

It was a little jumbled when SS are found dead and that was the extent of that chapter.

But all in all I found this to be one of the most intense books of Woods that I've read. Other than dozing off I would have read it in 1 sitting.

Woods needs to use Teddy Fay more and others less. And I think it's about time he marries Holly - so what if he would be 1st Gentleman. They've already had that with the previous POTUS.

This book is unbelievable. I absolutely love it. The main character Stone Harrington is an average guy that likes to have fun and spend time with his friends. I liked the plot of the story of which Stone goes out vacationing with his friends in Maine. Stone and his friends aren’t aware that severe weather is going to hit them. When Stone is worrying about weathers other troubles arise. This book was suspenseful and entertaining. The only thing that wasn’t my favourite was that it was a little fast paced. In some sections of the book it was choppy and events were going by fast each page. No pun intended. Overall I would recommend this book as a short thrilling fiction novel. 4/5 stars

Woods is more into quantity than quality. That's why I don't read Patterson anymore.

Know I shouldn't find Stone (kinda sexist pig) funny, but I do. Any Woods makes for a great light summer read.
