"Whether it's fast cars or fast women, Stefano Ferraro gets what he wants. When he's not fodder for the paparazzi, he commands Ferraro family businesses--both legitimate and illegitimate. While their criminal activity is simply a rumor yet to be proven, no one knows the real truth. The Ferraros are a family of shadow riders capable of manipulating light and dark, an ability Stefano thought ran in his family alone--until now... With little left to her name, Francesca Cappello has come to Chicago in hopes of a new life. She wasn't expecting to attract the attention of a man with primal hunger in his eyes, driven to claim her as his to protect and to please. And if he discovers her secret, it could ruin her..."--From publisher.

This is my first time reading a book of Christine Feehan's and I enjoyed it very much. There was a lot of depth and detail to the characters and the plot was interesting. However, it did take me a while to really get interested in the beginning, but as I kept reading, it slowly got more interesting and addictive. I loved how the other characters were introduced as well in this book, not just a fleeting introduction but they were introduced with depth and detail and I am really looking forward to reading their stories further in the coming books.

I enjoyed this book very much. Francesca is trying to hide from the person, Barry Anthon, whom she saw murder her sister. He follows her everywhere she goes, making her life a nightmare. When Stefano Ferraro meets Francesca, he realizes that she is his mate. Stefano is a shadow rider and his shadow recognizes Francesca's shadow immediately. This book is a love story as well as story that will keep you wondering when Barry Anthon and his men will show up. I loved this book from beginning to end.

A story of a powerful, domineering man who leads his close-knit family against the forces of evil using their special paranormal skills. When he meets the women of his destiny, he claims her and fights her demons.

I was disappointed by this novel. She'd gotten bad at repeating so much in other later novels, but this 1 was pathetic. Every other page was repeating. I got sick of it. And I love Feehan's novels. There are a few of her later 1's that did a lot of repeating but nothing like this one. The story line I enjoyed. Only 1 star for me, a sad, sad thing. Happy Reading!

This first book in the new Shadow series was a great read...that I almost didn't want to end. I loved Francesca's and Emmanuelle Ferraro's feistiness, but you can be sure, I'd never want to run into any of the Ferraro brothers in the cover of night...or the shadows--in real life-- but they ...will...protect the women, children, and the seniors from crime. The sequel, Shadow Reaper, which features Stefano's younger brother, Ricco, came out in 2017...also a fun--but slightly darker-- read. Shadow Keeper will be out sometime in May of 2018, and will be about Giovanni Ferraro. I can hardly wait for Shadow Keeper... and am counting the months. Ever since I first read Shadow Rider, I've twice spotted a Ferraro Foods truck around my hometown. Before, I've never seen one...much less even heard of that company. I know I'll keep re-reading Shadow Rider.
