I used to love Nora Roberts. And maybe I'm remembering her stories as better than they were, or maybe my standards are much higher now (thanks to new and diverse authors). I couldn't get into the one dimensional characters, the first chapter introduces 3 new characters at once; throws in a bunch of fantasy that we are supposed to just believe, and you are supposed to like these flat characters??? But they are Nora's very typical, flat, trope, rich white women & men that seem more like pawns for her dialogue. (Which is not the greatest either.)

Read it if you really want to escape into another typical Nora Roberts story, including one dimensional rich white characters and a world full of some half-assed mythology and psychic powers (of course the main character has like Supreme Powers, all of them, and can use them accurately, the usual. Yawn.) Oh, not to forget the unrealistic sex where the man gives the woman an orgasm with his big dick without clitoral stimulation. Like all her hetero leads, apparently she writes stories about the 5% of women who climax through penetration. Cool.
