Reading the comments bellow before I checked out the movie, I was expecting it to be stupid and chocked full of crude humor. But the movie was actually quite the contrary. Yes, it was obviously made for children, with a predictable plot and lot's of colorful action. But there were only about three references to bodily humor, and the squirrel (bent on revenge after being shot) had my whole family laughing on several occasions. Yes, Robert Downey Junior was doing something weird with his voice, a mumbled Scottish accent that half the time sounded almost French, but overall he did a very good job of playing the eccentric Doolittle. Yes, the animation was not that great of quality, but the audience it is intended for won't mind. My sister and I had a fun time trying to figure out which famous actor (there were quite a few) corresponded to which animal. All the characters were memorable (stick bug, Ostridge, parrot, dragonfly, dragon, whale, and more) ; kids will be laughing at the animal relationships and it emphasized the importance of conservation in a way they can grasp. Overall, I found the movie to be entertaining, and a good one the whole family can enjoy.
